• The 1.0 version broke our previous install, but John Gardner got on this, did an update and even gave us a temporary patch code. All smiles here.

  • Hi rreddick,

Thanks for your feedback and I apologize for the trouble you experienced. I’m disappointed you didn’t open a support ticket before leaving a 1-star review. It may not seem like much but us plugin developers who offer our hard work for free on www.remarpro.com live and die by the ratings. I would have liked an opportunity to look into your issue a bit and see if I could help fix it.

If that’s still an option, please provide more details about the problem and a link to your site so I can try to help.

Well taken. I did not find a way to open a support ticket on first blush. The site is https://www.ttuhub.net. It is multisite (may make a difference) and the theme is Metro, running on the Genesis Framework. I restored the 0.5.3 version of the slider after systematically removing all other plugins produced no cure. I still have to tweak the CSS for our purposes.

Interesting. I’m not aware of any issues in multi-site (my local development environment is actually a multi-site setup) or with StudioPress’ products (I’ve developed Genesis sites and used my plugin) but there could be an issue in either of those.

Since you reverted back to the previous version, I’m unfortunately not going to be able to provide much assistance other than to theorize that it could have been a bug in my code, it could have been a cache issue or something else entirely.

I could do the upgrade again, if you think that would help.

It might offer some better insight as to why the slider isn’t working.

site now reset to 1.0. Tell me what’s next.

You’re adding the slider via widget, correct? If so, I found the issue. There’s a bug in my widget code. I’ll be pushing out an update in a little bit that corrects the problem

    (@rreddick)

    Yes, that’s what we’re using.

Just pushed out v1.0.1. Should take care of your issue. Thanks for your patience.

This did not cure the problem at https://www.ttuhub.net

Can you remove and re-add the widget, if you didn’t try that already?

    (@rreddick)

Having done this, it displays, but there is no slide show effect. I.e., visitor has to click to advance images.

OK, I’m going to add a checkbox to the widget which will enable or disable the slideshow effect.

In the meantime if you can copy the arconix-flexslider.js file from includes\js\ folder to the root of your theme folder you can add the following to the slider section (beneath navigationText) to turn it into a slideshow:

    autoPlay: true,
    stopOnHover: true,

    Sweet.
    It works

    Glad to hear it.

Just remember when I push out the new version there will be a checkbox in the widget that allows you to set a slideshow. If you keep the js file in your theme folder root the setting in the widget won’t do anything.

Also, if you’d be willing to reconsider your 1-star rating I’d certainly appreciate it.
