X2 is a flexible and powerful theme for high-impact sites. I used the free version for several months then upgraded to Premium. The Premium version is definitely worth the money.

The main weakness of this theme is its user interface. Terminology is sloppy, descriptions are poorly written, information is structured haphazardly. In other words, it’s a bitch to learn, but once learned, it’s an incredibly powerful product. If the developers invested as much time on the front end as the back end, X2 would become one of the most popular themes on WordPress.

Final note: during the learning curve – sometimes pulling my hair out in frustration at the awkwardness of the user interface – I searched high and low for an alternative theme. Nothing came close to X2 in terms of what I wanted. I persisted and was rewarded with a website that is both dynamic and robust. Time and money well spent.
