Upgrade completely screwed up my site

I was using the last version and loved it. Then all of a sudden this plugin auto-updated itself to 2.0 and the background images from all my pages disappeared. The entire interface changed as well with no warning or explanation. Terrible upgrade, I wasted a lot of time trying to figure out what happened and now will have to waste even more time reattaching all of background images on 50+ pages. Should I even stick with this plugin? Will I have to do this every time it upgrades? stupid stupid stupid!
