• Hi,

So I’m trying to create my own theme. No problems with the php and such, but IE is driving me nuts. For some reason, IE refuses to display the defined custom template for my pages. It just rolls with what it finds in index.php.

Firefox on the other hand renders everything according to the Page Template I chose.

A very peculiar error! How can I get two completely different results (and we’re not talking about a few pixels of difference in margins) depending on what browser I use?

Any ideas where to start troubleshooting this?
IE only uses the index.php for template, while Firefox goes with the custom template I selected when creating the page.

  • really simple first stop: IE is notorious for it’s cache.. hold control shift hit refresh yet?

    Yes, sadly no difference.

Not even re-installing XAMPP and WordPress on my machine fixed it.

And when I upload it to my server, it’s the opposit. IE uses the custom template and FF just goes with whatever it finds in index.php.

And that’s just too strange. I must be doing something seriously wrong in the code itself. Better go read some books and try from scratch.

    Thanks anyway! ??

Haha, ok, forget the whole issue.
It was a case of forgetting to log-in in both browsers. ??

Once I was logged in everywhere, everything displayed fine in both browsers
