Hi @stuudio,
We are very sorry that you think SaaS solutions (software as a service) are a “joke / crap”. Hosting the ratings data externally actually has a lot of benefits like saving DB load and improved performance. You can read this blog post that we’ve published a year ago which explains the pros and cons of using SaaS technology and why it’s actually better to use SaaS for your widgets:
Why Consider Using SaaS Technology for Your Site Widgets
Anyways, if you’ll read the description of the plugin you’ll notice that we are not hiding that fact, on the contrary – we are explicitly mentioning it and proud to be the only ratings SaaS plugin on WordPress. And it has nothing to do with the free or paid version.
Here’s the quote from the description:
All Rating-Widget star ratings are fully customizable, cross-browser, support multi-language, CSS3 compliant and hosted by Rating-Widget.com.
Btw. There are other great ratings plugins (like GD Star Rating) you can use which are hosted directly on your WordPress server.
