• I basically like this plugin a lot, for it gives precisely the kind of gallery I need (no-nonsense), and if it was working well, it’d get a 5-star rating. But what irks me (in this version – this could easily be fixed) is two issues, quite significant to me, and probably to many others:

    1) It does not play well with WPML for multilingual sites, falling back on the primary language of the site when you browse the image gallery.

    2) It is not possible to link from the widget to any URL – in fact, the default linking does not work either.

I do understand that this plugin has a history of many bugs, but these are fairly fundamental functions I’m confident that others would appreciate as well. Once they’re there, I’ll raise my rating.

@henrikrclausen: Thanks for the feedback. We’re aware of some conflict issues with WPML. If you could submit a bug report with any additional details at https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/, the more detail we have about the nature of the conflict and issues, the faster we’ll be able to address it. You may also want to alert WPML in case there are any elements that may be addressed from their side.

On your #2, link from widget to URL: I assume you mean you want to be able to link from a thumbnail in the widget to a specific page? That’s not functionality that’s ever been part of NG up to now. There are some third party plugins for custom fields that allow you to link a NG image to a page, so you might try those. But I think that many third party extensions may still need to updated since our major update in August.

If you’d like to see this introduced into the core functionality of NextGEN Gallery, you should consider submitting a feature request at https://www.nextgen-gallery.com/feature-voting/.

Again, thanks for the feedback! (Erick)
