• I agree with the previous negative review.
THIS IS A CHEAT, DISHONEST PLUGIN.
The plugin is advertised to be free.
It only says, framework is required.
It did not say, that framework is NOT a WP plugin to be downloaded free from WP.irg, and that it is not free.
You need to PURCHASE their framework on their website in order to get it working.
A free plugin is not free FOR THE PAYING CUSTOMERS. It is free for EVERYBODY.
If they wrote the honest truth and placed the plugin among purchasable plugins, I’d consider buying it, thanks to the numerous good reviews about it.
But now I am NOT going to use any of their famous “free” stuff.
Total waste of time and nerves.

    @bocimayer:
    Hi there!
Thanks for taking your time to write down your feedback.
Your sorry effort is no review, as you did not use my plugin, obviously. One can only re-view a thing that was really used. Period.

Again, as it is stated in the plugin description in more than one place here on www.remarpro.com: this is a FREE plugin, which is an add-on for a premium product (paid). If you complain about the paid product – which is the Genesis Framework – then you might address this to the company “StudioPress/ Copyblogger Media LLC” at studiopress.com, which is releasing that product. I am NOT the recipient for that, obviously.

Why are you punishing ME for developing a free GPL plugin for premium product? — There are thousands of plugins here on www.remarpro.com which are essentially the same – for “Genesis Framework” or lots of other paid premium products. Following your logic you’d have to punish all Thousands of them what the heck they did such a crime.

If you really got it, my plugin is also titled “Genesis …” — if it weren’t for Genesis you’d never find that word/phrase anywhere in the title or description or such. It then would only be named “Widgetized Footer”…

Your feedback is misleading and a cheat for other potential users. In the end, I leave the verdict up to the users of my plugin add-on, because those who actually use the plugin are very enthusiastic, for many, many months.

You buy a car and get any add-on for free, so why in the world would you write a damning verdict about the free add-ons only because you had to pay for that car? Such a behavior would speak associations.

If you are still interested in finding a plugin or solution to get a widgetized footer, I am happy to help you for any other theme or framework to do so. Just contact me.

Again, thanks for taking your time, Dave ??

This plugin, from David, is a free add-on for those folks who have already purchased the Genesis framework, from StudioPress.

If you don’t own the framework, then this plugin will do nothing for you. It is certainly not trying to push sales of the framework in a cheating or dishonest way.

This plugin is free, but can only be used in a limited context. Since you presumably don’t have the framework or a child theme active, then the plugin will not even allow activation, so you can’t possibly have actually used the plugin features. As such, I’d urge you to reconsider whether it’s fair, and indeed a good reflection upon yourself, to have given a 1 star review on something you’ve not actually tried.

@bocimayer’s comment is quite possibly the most unhelpful review I’ve ever seen.

The plugin is free to download, install, and use. Unlike other “free” plugins out there, there’s no premium version of this one: FREE gets you the full functionality this plugin promises.

For over 85,000 websites that are powered by Genesis, David’s work is not just useful – it represents the generosity of spirit that gives Genesis its thriving, growing community. What a wonderful thing, that for an investment of less than $100 for the framework, you have access to thousands of free tutorials, support forum help, and great free plugins like David’s. His plugins make “do it yourself” possible for people who don’t know a single thing about PHP or CSS. I don’t work for Studiopress; I just use (and love) the framework.

I hope, @bocimayer, you’ll reconsider your review and give David credit for a well-coded plugin that delivers on all the claims stated in the repository. Since you obviously haven’t been able to test whether it works or not, I’d echo Gary’s request that you remove this inappropriate one-star review.

WordPress is an extremely diverse community ranging from total newbies to world renown developers. The newbies are the ones that frequently complain about having to disable plugins to troubleshoot issues and rage about having to wait more than a day for free help. That being said, bocimayers review represents that of a total newbie moron. This plugin is for users of the Genesis Framework, and it works great ??

    Hi there,

Obviously different people have differing views about what the word FREE means but I must admit I agree with bocimayers on this one if you take it in the context it is delivered.

If the author had no intention of deceiving the potential downloader why would he not include in the copy that the Genesis (Paid) Framework is required for the plugin to work instead of just a generic “framework is required” comment which could mean the Worpress Framework itself to the average reader. Just because something is free to download doesn’t mean it will work with WordPress alone and by giving that impression it constitutes false or misleading representation in my opinion.

On another note: after reading the comment by ncuesta above I am very disappointed with his representation of WordPress newbies considering that we were all WordPress newbies at one time. And the bottom line is none of us have the right to degrade others by calling them newbie morons for any reason whatsoever.

In my opinion this only demonstrates ncuesta’s lack of respect for his fellow human being just because he feels he is smarter or superior to bocimayers. I thought these WordPress threads were designed for all users to post questions, comments, and opinions as equals with mutual respect for one another not to degrade others just because you may know a little more about something.

Isn’t that what all forums are about?

It is very sad and disheartening to see this utter display of disrespect for any fellow human being, whom just as each of us, is entitled to his/her own opinion.

    Have a great day!
