Highlighting search results breaks Navigation/Sidebar

The highlighting option highlights words/phrases that are located throughout the entire site.. For example, if you search for “about” the navigation menu with “about” in it gets highlighted. Major problem…

What’s worse is if you have something in the sidebar with the word “about” it will attempt to highlight that as well which is completely nonsensical for a user when searching. It then breaks the code by inserting html that alters the sidebar and you end up seeing the code as if it is copy.
