Postie never sends mail unless you tell it to. If you had a lot of spam in the account you set up it will notify you that the email it found was not allowed.

solonova, I’ve had Postie for about 15 months now and I’ve never received a spam in the Postie email account.

If you haven’t done so yet, make sure the account is something random, like [email protected] (spammers are unlikely to come up with that address). Addresses that are post@, info@, sales@, wp@, etc. are targeted by spammers by their very nature. Also, create rules on the server itself so that only emails from authorized senders are accepted into the account.

You could also be the victim of a virus on your computer that sends spams every time you send an email. Check for that especially.

I’m with Wayne — it’s not Postie that’s causing the spam.
