• Hi, I have to add more then a thousend pics to a gallery and there is no reasonable way due to server limitations (memory /php-runtime).
Is there a possibility to create the gallery and the thumbs by hand, ftp upload and tell the plugin here they are ?

    Cheers Carsten

I am also looking for a way to have NextGen Gallery recognize FTP uploads. It only seems to see pictures it uploads, I must be missing something. I am looking to use my Aperture to FTP plugin and save some time.

thanks – I LOVE this plugin!

Can you not create an empty gallery and then upload the images using Winscp for example? Then just ask NextGen Gallery to fetch images from that gallery directory… I have done that; not with a thousand images, though.

yes this works absolutely. I wasn’t clear enough on my end. I am looking for a way to cut down the workflow as adding 100 galleries this way is a different matter than one a day, especially if they have context specific names. I guess I am not clear on if the file structure is the same why does NextGen need to “import” them when in fact they are there and don’t move after being imported.

For instance a way to refresh NextGen so it sees the new uploads?

thanks for you response in case it answers csicars question.

    kurt
