• When I install Divi (2.5+ tested) on a fresh WordPress 4.6 install, I am unable to save any customizer changes. WHen I click save, nothing saves, and the dev console reports an Internal 500 error.

If I install the same Divi theme(s) on a WordPress 4.5.3 fresh install, the customizer saves properly and no errors are returned.

Out of curiosity I did an in-wordpress update from 4.5.3 -> 4.6 on a working website, and immediately the saves wouldnt work and the 500 error was happening again.

Divi support tell me it’s my server creating the issue, but it seems to me a Divi compatibility issue with 4.6 ? Any insight / advice on this problem?

  • Hi weighter!

If Divi is telling you that it could be a hosting issue then I would contact the hosting provider first. They wouldn’t try to lie to you and I imagine they have plenty of people that are using their theme and working on the recent update. So just contact your hosting provider to make sure it isn’t them.

    Hope that helps!

    bdanzer29, thanks for the reply!

The only issue is I rent an unmanaged VPS from godaddy. So They don’t handle stuff like that, and I have no idea how to troubleshoot this.

Why would this be a server thing though if it works perfectly with WP 4.5.3 but i get an Internal 500 error on ajax-admin.php when using 4.6 ?
