• Hi there,

We have installed a 2.5 version on our site and I was wondering how we can add more blogs that can run on the same site. Do we need to install the software for each instance of the blog. We can do that, but we thought maybe you can have some feature like a drop-down menu that let’s you go to a different blog in the same site.

    Let me know. Thanks.

  • Yes you will, unless you want to try to use WPMU (Multi-User):
    https://mu.www.remarpro.com

Standalone blogs will have to be installed separately, but they can share the same database if you use a unique TABLE PREFIX for each one. (The place to declare that is in the wp-config.php file prior to installation.)

But what about having separate pages with separate blogs but on the same site. So when different authors log in they only can publish on their page.

    Not that I’m aware of.

Can we do something about this? Isnt this the beauty of open source?

As said by joni, you can install multiple blogs in separate folders on the same domain so review Installing Multiple Blogs.

To have multiple blogs with a shared login, I believe with some coding that can be done–search the forums here for that possibility.

If you believe this is a feature you think should be part of the core product you can submit a ticket at https://trac.www.remarpro.com requesting that feature.
