After some serious problems with GoDaddy, I have been trying to back up my WP websites with UpDraft to my AWS account. Unfortunately, I keep getting this failure message: S3 settings test result: Failure: We could not successfully access or create such a bucket. Please check your access credentials, and if those are correct then try another bucket name (as another S3 user may already have taken your name).

The error reported by S3 was: UpdraftPlus_S3::getBucket(): [AccessDenied] Access Denied
Since I have no idea what I’m doing on either end – WP or AWS – I was hoping someone here could be of help. I have no knowledge of code and barely understand how this whole thing works.
    Thank you.

    Hi,

This message means that Amazon’s side is saying that the credentials – the access key and secret key and bucket name – you’ve entered, are not valid. The keys might be wrong, or the bucket name might be one already taken and used by someone else.

If you want the easiest possible storage setup, then we’ve put a lot of work into our own “Vault” storage option. You can buy space for this here – https://updraftplus.com/shop/updraftplus-vault-storage-5-gb/ (that’s 5Gb capacity; others are available at the bottom of the page).

    David
