I received dozens of messages similar to this one as a Wordfence alert:

Unknown file in WordPress core: wp-includes/js/tinymce/plugins/wpfullscreen/plugin.js

“This file is in a WordPress core location but is not distributed with this version of WordPress. This is usually due to it being left over from a previous WordPress update, but it may also have been added by another plugin or a malicious file added by an attacker.”

Do I need to take any action on these warnings? I’m using the latest version of WordPress and all of my themes and plugins are up-to-date.

    Thanks for any suggestions!

  • Hi Michelle,
This file seems to be related to an old version of WordPress and it can be safely deleted from your server.
