4.6 dashboard is almost unusable – unresponsive and can't scroll

  • I just upgraded to 4.6 and am using the AVada theme.

    Now my backend is extremely sluggish (especially on pages) and it takes 2-5 minutes for pages to load before I can scroll or do anything to it.

    Even the standard WP menu options such as selecting a template pops up a white box and only after about 1 minute do the options show up.

    I’ve tried rebooting my PC, i’m not running any cache programs.

    I can’t tell if it is WP 4.6, Avada, Fusion builder or what is causing this problem.

    I need to grow up. ??

    Anyhow, please disable all plugins and change the theme to twentysixteen, then turn things back on one at a time until you you see what, if anything, is causing the issue.

    I’ve tried rebooting my PC

    Is this a localhost installation or is the site on a server somewhere?

    i tried changing the them to 2016 but even though the theme shows active – it is still loading the Avada theme.

    Ah… wpengine. Check with their support. They do some odd things.
