Empty album notice cannot be localized

    Hi,

    I would like to localize the notification that appears when an empty album is displayed on a page via shortcode. (It says “no photos were found”). Unfortunately, right now it’s hardcoded and there is no way to change it without modifying the plugin data (something I don’t want to do, for obvious reasons).

    I am using a custom album theme and I tried to display my localized notice through that, but apparently the theme doesn’t actually load at all when the album is empty.

    Could you please make this string translatable? (Or is this possible now and I am missing something?)

    @corvidism – The “no images were found” message is not something that really should be used as empty albums should not be inserted into a page/post or used in another album.

    The message is more an “internal” reminder of this, especially since an empty album will also produce a red triangle with an exclamation mark in it. As it is, this is not a translatable string, but I will note it for our developers to reconsider.

    I understand.

    It’s just something that happens on the websites I maintain – the policy is not to let the users edit pages with shortcodes with them, so it’s either having the users fill the albums and then wait for us to get them online, or preparing pages with empty albums and let them fill them as they need.

    Different way of thinking, I suppose.

    @corvidism – You do have an additional option of creating a custom template for the same displayed message.

    The default template can be found here:
    ../wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/products/photocrati_nextgen/modules/nextgen_gallery_display/templates/no_images_found.php

    You could copy/create the same file under the following folder:
    ../wp-content/ngg/modules/photocrati-nextgen_gallery_display/templates/no_images_found.php

    Then make modifications as you need in the new/copied version of the file to be used going forward. This template will also be update safe in the sense it will not be over-written/removed with future updates.
