Translations won't save

Hello,

I’ve read through the forum, can’t find any notes on this issue I’m having.

I’m having trouble getting my translations to save, particularly on a special ‘post type’ on the theme I’m using (Directory Starter, with child theme) and a directory plugin called (GeoDirectory) The post type I am having trouble with is “Places”..

This was working fine and ‘suddenly’ it seems to be causing an error when I try to add French translations to a ‘place’.

The rest of the translated parts of the site seem to be working fine.

So, when I am editing or creating a ‘Place’ I am able to see the language tabs and I’m able to flip back and forth, enter translations in the title and the main text area etc.. but when I click UPDATE to save changes, the fields clear and translations are gone.

When I check the front end, and go to ‘French’, the translations are not there, just the English repeated (even though the rest of the site is French as expected)

I checked that the themes and plugins are up to date.

WordPress version: WordPress 4.6 running Directory Starter Child theme.
Theme: GeoDirectory (I am using a child theme based on that)
Plugin: GeoDirectory
