Following an issue with a security plugin (WordFence) failure, the site was locked out and the permissions had to be reset for the whole site. Since then MarketPress fails when you select “Shipped” under items in “Manage Orders”. It appears to be functioning normally in all other aspects. Can anyone suggest a fix?!

WordPress is version 4.6, MarketPress Lite is version 2.9.5.6

    Hi Ian,

Hope you’re doing well today ??

I just tested MP Lite on WP 4.6 with WordFence active but I couldn’t replicate this issue when marking order as Shipped.

Could you provide me with some additional steps or settings that are needed in order to replicate this?

    Cheers,
    Predrag

    Yes, anything you need.

The site login page was under sudden attack but Wordfence helped withstand it, except that part of it corrupted and locked out the site. The hosts reset Permissions (to 771 folders and 644 files) and it is now fine but for this annoying but crucial glitch. The client can’t process orders fully because Shipping produces a blank page. You can see the WordPress frame and menus but content is blank. Im not sure what else I can tell you other than just letting you in to the control panel.

    Hi Ian,

Do you have a backup of your site before this attack so you can restore to that in case any files got corrupted in the process?

Have you tried simply reinstalling MarketPress to see if that brings it back to normal?

    Cheers,

Thank you for your replies so far. I wondered if reinstalling the software might be the answer but was scared to lose any of my client’s existing sales data. Some items are mid-process including 3 that are waiting to be changed to “shipped” status. Can you reassure me that nothing will be lost?

    Hi Pedrag,

Please can you tell me if it is safe to reinstall the plugin without losing any of my client’s sales data? What will happen to the 3 items in mid-process? This is now quite urgent.

    Thanks
    Ian

    Hi Ian,

MarketPress saves all the data in your database and removing it shouldn’t have any affect on your settings.

However, it’s always best to stay on the safe side and have a backup ready before performing this.

It’s not the settings I’m worried about, it’s previous and current sales data. The reinstallation automatically refers to the archived data? Can you confirm. Many thanks.

Hello Ian, I hope you are doing well today!

Reinstalling the MarketPress plugin will not affect your data, like products or orders information. This information is saved on your database. I can confirm that this is happening on my installation.

As Predrag suggested, please create a back of your site before re-installing the plugin, for precautionary reasons.

    Hi Nastia/Predrag

Now I’m panicking. I’ve just backed up the entire site and database, and then reinstalled MarketPress and the glitch is still there!! ie: I try to mark an item as “shipped” and the frame goes blank!

No idea what to do now and the client is getting restless because the site is not functioning and she’s losing money.

Please, do either of you have another solution?

    Cheers

    Hi Ian,

Do you have backup from pre-attach, perhaps some other WP files that MP requires got corrupted because none of the test I try with MP and Wordfence are returning such results?

    Best,
    Predrag

I’m sorry Predrag but I’m not sure what you mean by “back-up from pre-attach”.

By the way, all other functions seem to work and it appears that sales can still be processed. It’s just selecting “shipped” from any menu or button. Yet up to 2nd August this function worked. If you select “closed” it sends the item to the closed folder but marks it as “shipped”! Any clues there?

    Many thanks once again.

Ignore that. Yes I do know what you mean. And I’m afraid I don’t have back up from pre-attach.

I removed Wordfence as it seemed to be responsible for the shut down but I wonder now if MP might have been communicating with it in some way. (Hoping someone is still there!)
