    It doesn’t look empty to me. I see the default theme, but all the posts seem to be there.

    When I when through the update, WordPress did prompt me to “Update my database”. I think that’s what caused the immediate blankness of the site. Now, when I try to log in, I just get blank pages instead of my Dashboard. Could this be because the database is still updating? 6 hours later?

    So the website or the admin interface is showing you a blank page?
    (No, it only takes a couple seconds for the database to update.)

    The admin interface and anything associated with /wp-admin folder is showing me a blank page.

    If you’d like to try to login to see the problem, use:

    username = Test
    password = test
    case sensitive.
    Thanks

    Well you’ve delete and reuploaded the 2.5.1 files per another thread you started.

    How about deactivating plugins.

    Since you can’t access your admin panels, backup your wp-content/plugins folder, then delete everything in that folder and see if that solves the problem.

    Nope, that wasn’t me that deleted and reuploaded everything.

    So, deleting everything in my wp-content/plugins folder is the same as deactivating plugins? I’ll try that tonight when I get access to ftp: again.

    Yes deleting the plugins folders would cause the plugins currently active to be deactivated.

    Sorry, I made that suggestion about deleting and reuploading on one of the threads you commented on.

    Essentially that recommendation was to delete the WordPress files, then reupload, per Steps 7 and 8 in Upgrading_WordPress_Extended.

    No offense taken…I’m just frustrated at how many times my post(s) were overlooked. I actually looked through other old posts to see if anyone else had had the same problem I had to find nothing quite close enough before I posted my problem. I really know just enough to get myself in trouble with databases & php if I try to think too far beyond directions given. I didn’t want to cause a bigger mess than I already had.

    Before I forget, you do have backups of your database?

    Thread Starter bigbenford

    (@bigbenford)

    I did back up the database before I did the upgrade. I had to have iPower walk me through that. Do you know how unknowledgeable about their systems they are??? It’s about as ridiculous as the phone company’s tech support lines going down!

    Deleted the plugins folder and no help. Before I started with the upgrade, I deleted everything the instructions told me to so the plugins folder was pretty blank to begin with. All that was in there was what the plugins folder of the upgraded software contained. Any new suggestions?

    I even re-loaded all the 2.5.1 files, overwriting what I had up there before, but it didn’t help. Very frustrated…and can’t blog to get out the frustration. Funny, huh?
