• Hi,

I am trying to optimize the speed at which my site loads and I have noticed that there is a delay everytime that my site has to reach out to instagram to retreive the images. I was wondering if there was perhaps a way for the images to get cached locally and added to each time a new image was posted on instagram?

    Thanks

    Hey lacoder,

There isn’t a way to do what you’re describing with the plugin currently. Our developer is considering adding a caching feature to the free version of the plugin that would store the posts retrieved from Instagram in the database for a given time period. This is something that is already a feature of the “Pro” version.

The good news at least is that the plugin doesn’t make the request to Instagram until the rest of the page has loaded so the only thing that should be loading slower than it would if there was caching would be the feed itself.

Let me know if you have any questions about this!
