W3 Total cache "fresh intall" question

  • Hello,

    I use your plugin on every single wordpress site I own. I just love this plugin!

    Well, I’m trying to make a “fresh install” of the plugin on one of my websites, but when I uninstall it, remove all w3 codes from .htacess, and manual delete some files via ftp, when I re-install it, it still has all the “old” configurations. Including the cloudflare integration, with my cloudflare log in details and all.

    What I am missing? Does the /wp-content/cache “belongs” to w3 super cache plugin? Should I delete it aswell before re install the plugin?

    Plus, is there any plugin table that I should be removing from the WordPress Data Base?

    I really need a 100% fresh install on that plugin on that website.

  • configs are stored in /wp-content/w3tc-config/ directory.

    Thank you for your answer.

    Well, when I uninstall the plugin, that folder is removed.

    And when I reinstall it, all configs are the same right after the reinstallation, comparing to when I disable and uninstall the plugin.

    So they must be stored elsewhere aswell, I guess.

    Any idea?

    To reset the configuration, either you need to delete w3tc-config directory inside wp-content directory. Otherwise, go to Dashboard > Performance > General Settings > Import/Export settings > Reset configuration ??

    Assuming you had deleted the config file (and /wp-content/cache/ — it stores a copy of your config there too), and still getting fed your old config details. I wonder if it’s some server-side cache system like Varnish or Opcache that is/was serving up your old config settings when you reinstalled since w3tc’s config is stored in a *.php file — doubtful but just thinking aloud.
