Admin not notified on new comments / Interface

Thanks. I’m actually a developer and security expert by trade, so I’ve tried these already. I’m using Postman SMTP as the mailer plugin, and the message doesn’t even get generated according to the logs. Even if I go back to the basic WPMail() function, this doesn’t seem to work either.

Emails outside of this are being sent fine. I also used another notifier plugin to announce the arrival of new comments and replies, and this works fine

What URL are you looking for ? A post, for example ?

I see your two comments, but did not get any notification. Interestingly, there is also no alert in the WordPress console either – are you using the same hooks ?

We tested it. However, we saw that you have some conflict. That blocks ajax process. You have plugin or template issue.

So, you should activate/deactivate all plugins one by one and template in order to see where is the issue.

That’s interesting – does your plugin support PHP7 ? This is what I am using on my site. Let me see if adding

AddType x-mapp-php5 .php
AddHandler x-mapp-php5 .php

to .htaccess resolves this.

No dice, so I decided to exclude these files from minify, and this doesn’t work either. Disabled all plugins and getting the same error.

Did you disable template?

Ok. I got it. It’s caused by the postmatic plugin I have installed. Just disabled this, and now everything works from the AJAX perspective. Still not sending mail though.

Can you test again at your end please ?

In Postmatic, “Comments by email” is currently disabled. If I enable this, then it creates the HTTP 500 conflict. Any thoughts ?

Is there any way to send a notification email without using Postmatic ? The Postmatic email module is what is causing the issues as far as I can see.

I’ve disabled the email module, and now everything runs as expected
