NoFollow?

I got this plugin for nofollow feature. I see where you talk about [gallery rel= "nofollow"] shortcode, do you add it to the “Gallery Link Additional CSS Classes” box in the gallery image editor or to the text side of WordPress dashboard? On the text side of dashboard, do you add it next to the gallery? Or within it? If you add to CSS area (in gallery image editor) with shortcode do you include [ ] or with out the [ ]? I have tried all different ways and I am not seeing rel no follow next to my links with a code inspector. Can you give me a better explanation or example of where to add the shortcode? Do they just not show up in inspectors? I just want to be sure when using affiliate links so I am not penalized.
