Cannot create specific capability?

  • #1: I used the ‘Copy’ button on the Account page to copy/paste license, but it doesn’t work. So I had to copy/paste using keyboard shortcut keys to get the license to copy/paste in the ‘General’ tab.

    #2: I’ve downloaded the PRO version (4.27.1) and need to create the following roles with these capabilities:

    Admin IT User – Access to SPECIFIC widget blocks only. This plugin cannot do this? I’ve ‘Add Capability’ but how do I specify certain Widget Blocks that can be edited by this specific user role?

    Other Admin User – Only give them access to CERTAIN pages. I’m not seeing the capability to only allow CERTAIN pages to be selectively editable by this user role.

    The documentation on this page: https://www.role-editor.com/block-selected-widgets-under-appearance-menu does not match the latest PRO version. So I was confused following the instructions on how to get certain roles to access specific Widget Blocks. There is no Widgets, Admin Menu, Other Roles, and Posts View buttons in the User Role Editor. So how can I create what I need? Very confused!

    When I did get the ‘Widgets’ button to appear, I clicked on it only to be approached with ‘Turn ON “edit_theme_options” capability to manage widgets permissions’.

    So now what? I was hoping to move quickly after opening this item to create roles and limitations for these roles, but it seems I’m hitting brick walls wherever I go.

    I would like clear, concise documentation for this product.

    Thanks for the information, suggestions.

    Documentation page for the “Widgets admin access” additional module was updated according to the latest version of URE Pro.

    “edit_theme_options” capability is required for role to get access to the “Appearance->Widgets” menu. So there is no sense to allow to set any restrictions for the available widgets if role does not have access to the full list.

    “Edit posts/pages restrictions” add-on allows to limit user by editing just specific posts/pages/custom post types.

    Okay. I think I was confusing Appearance > Widgets with setting user role restrictions for WYSIWYG Widget Blocks. I think this where I’m confused on how to set user role restrictions for this type of plugin.

    I’ll work on reviewing the forum to see if I can find answers.
