php54.Error File

  • Why is the php54.error file being generated in my temp folder on my server. It is taking up all the space and essentially shuts the site down if I do not delete the file in time. I’ve already tried to switch themes and deactive all plugins and it still continues to generate and take up all of the space on my site.

    Also php.ini file has logging off so I don’t know why it’s continuing to generate logs.

    From other threads it looks like it’s a MySQL issue. We are also using IIS 7. Please advise.

    It is not a suggestion. WordPress requires version 5.6 or better.

    Ok so here is my concern. We have over 10 websites using wordpress 5.4 php. And from what I am seeing it’s only one of our websites that is showing up[ in these log errors. Shouldn’t it be all websites if it requires it?

    We’ve been having this issue for some time and I don’t believe it’s because of the version of PHP that is causing this.

    I suggest you check with your host also. There apparently is something different about the setup for that particular site.

    To run WordPress we recommend your host supports:
    PHP version 5.6 or greater
    MySQL version 5.6 or greater OR MariaDB version 10.0 or greater
    That’s really it. We recommend Apache or Nginx as the most robust and featureful server for running WordPress, but any server that supports PHP and MySQL will do. That said, we can’t test every possible environment and each of the hosts on our hosting page supports the above and more with no problems.

    Note: If you are in a legacy environment where you only have older PHP or MySQL versions, WordPress also works with PHP 5.2.4+ and MySQL 5.0+, but these versions have reached official End Of Life and as such may expose your site to security vulnerabilities.
