• Reporting a possible bug.

I have the Zerif-lite theme which has a preloader option to display a spinning gif whilst the home page is loading.

Whilst testing a new site today I found that with IE11, the loading gif would not go away. If I clicked the stop loading X the page displayed as expected. Looking at the UI responsiveness data in IE, I could see that the page was just looping on a timer until I clicked the X. I’m afraid I could not debug into the depths of where it was getting stuck – I’m not handy enough with teh debugging tools yet.

    Chrome works OK.

I deactivated all plugins and then reintroduced and found that the hang only occurred with the GADWP plugin activated.

I could also workaround the hang by using Zerif’s option to disable it’s preloader.

    Thanks
    Stuart

  • Hi,

Can you check the console for errors? Here are some step-by-step instructions:

Hi Alin – I think you can mark this as closed. I did test carefully before making the report, but now I can’t reproduce reliably. I may have made other changes in the mean time so perhaps a code error somewhere else was causing the problem.

When I tried it a couple of days ago it was still happening. I had a couple of errors in the IE F12 console due to stray hyphens in HTML comments. When I tried to load the page I was getting a 72 second delay waiting for a fonts file from Google, but this only happened with IE.

Anyway – I’ll make a new post if it reoccurs and I can tie it with certainty to GADWP (which I now think unlikely). Thanks for responding.

    Stuart
