• Hello those in the know….

I have a couple of easy questions for those of you who actually know what you’re talking about.

We’re writers, TV, magazines, NEWS guys and gals, and we have a couple of screenwriters that bug the crap out us, but we’re all friends, as far as you know. We’ve decided to launch a site where we can all sit behind our monitors naked and share ideas, blogs and everything in between.

So, we’re interested in using WP or WPmu as the blogging software. The question is, do we NEED WPmu if the number of us doesn’t exceed too many? I’m thinking about 30 users TOPS. The reality is, we’re probably looking at about 20, but who knows at this point. Can we work WP to accommodate multiple users? Is it possible to use just WP, give each person a blog and be done with it?

WPmu seems like over-kill and I remember reading somewhere that WP can be used in this way, it just requires that each user being “allowed” to have a blog space, is this correct?

Are there limitations, like not being able to skin each users blog to their liking, does everyone have to share the same look? Thanks for taking the time to read this, I know some people will say just use the search function, but my gnat like brain doesn’t work that way.

We’re not interested in just joining a blog site like WP, or Blogger or anything else like that, we’d like to keep our ideas private and in our own community so to speak.

    Thanks for the help.

  • One installation for all: You can use categories around that, but it’s not very ideal.
One installation per user: It’s gonna be pain in the neck when upgrading.

No. WPMu is probably harder to manage, but not overkill in my opinion.
