    Hello,

    I’m having issue to use accent marks on any section of wordpress, it doesn’t matter the theme or plugins installed, alway when I use a accent mark the letter is deleted.

    Example: I add the word to a page “Estratégico” when update the page is stay as “Estratgico” without the “é”.

    The character encoding I’m using utf8, this is set in the wp-config.php.
    Also checked the tables and database encoding is utf8_general_ci.

    Making some testing I see that if I add in a new page the special character and select a accent mark letter “á” or “?” and update the page then it’s showed as “?”

    Made some testing, and seems to be happening in with old versions too, I have tested it with 3.5 and above and same issue, but if I edit the table wp_post and add the letter with the accent mark it works, but if I update the page it’s deleted.
    Also tried with a simple html file and the accents are displayed OK.

    That is an issue with encoding. It could be the database or just the way you have things set up. Can you post a link to your site?

    I’m the owner of the server and I have set apache and php to utf-8 encoding also checked the database of the site and it’s set to utf8_general_ci.

    At this time I have changed it making some tests but still the same issue.

    Accent letters are deleted and ? are shown as “?”, all was working fine some days ago.

    I’m still investigating but is really strange this.

    Question what encoding should I use for mysql and php?

    I see CATEGORíAS but your test text shows,
    Test for accent mark, estacin. ao
    ?

    It can also be the font. Some families do not have a full character set.

    Yes, that what I mean when I edit the page.

    It’s was supposed to display estación. a?o

    The wordpress accent marks are ok the issue is when creating/editing pages or post.

    It’s a new installation and this was not happening before with new installations.
    I will check it.

    This happens with all plugins disabled?

    Yes, it’s a fresh wordpress install.
    I will disable Helloy Dolly and Akismet, the only ones avtive.

    Same thing.

    How are you entering the characters? From the keyboard, or using the html entity (& # 6 4 ;)?
