Images don't align properly in a WordPress page

Hi there!

I have the following problem:

I tried to create a very simplistic gallery because all the plugins that are available are way too complicated for what I want to do.

So I added my thumbnail images to the media library and added them to the page in this form:

Four images fit into one row. But the first four look like a staircase, they don’t line up on the top. The following rows are okay.

Any idea why it is like that?

I have the Avada Theme, btw.
