Not working with srcset? All images always load

Could it be, that the lazy loading stopped working as soon as WordPress started supporting the srcset attribute from 4.4 on? I’m using Chrome and all images always load right away.
On a page that doesn’t use srcset (happens to be the Buddypress activity page), the plugin still seems to work as intended, and images only load as soon as you scroll to them.
