Hi – firstly, apologies if this has already been covered in the forum (but without a forum search I can’t investigate!) – I can’t think I’m the only one with this problem.

We use Posterboard view on the front page of our site by way of a short-code (ai1ec view=”pasteboard” etc), with a maximum 8 events shown so it doesn’t go on too long. For recurring events this is showing each instance of the event, not just the next event or one image with a date range.

The result is that if we have one event that is on every night for a week it takes over most of the posterboard with the same image repeated every time.

I’ve searched through the settings and tried adding some attributes to the short-code but no success.

Has anybody managed to successfully alter this so it simply shows a series of events or just the next event?

    Thank you.

  • Hi,

The workaround for that is to create an event to start and end on the same date, then use the “Repeat” option and repeat the event until it is over.

    Hi Benjamin

    Thanks for your response.

That is the process I use to add recurring events anyway… I’ve added a test event following your workaround just in case I was doing something wrong – I’ve took a screenshot of the result:

The six day event I added takes up 6 of the slots on the Posterboard…. any ideas?

I am having the same problem with repeating posterboard events ignoring the limits in the settings section. I also have a problem with some of the events that were published now are set as scheduled, and I can’t republish them. Any thoughts on that?

@roadtrip9 – What dates and repeat pattern you used? I will create the same event to try to replicate the issue.

@chrisllen – Please create a new topic for your issue.

Benjamin, I am having the same issue. Not sure why it needs a new post. My repeats occur every week on the same day with no end date. I have 3 of them. None are restricted by the limit of number to show per page either on poster board, stream or agenda views.

Thanks for looking into it Benjamin,

So a current example I have is an event with settings as follows:
    No end time: ticked
    Start date/time: 11/8/2016 7.30pm
    Time zone: London
    Repeat: Ticked, August 12, 2016, August 13, 2016

The repeats were added on the “Custom” pattern by simply selecting the 12th and 13th.

For what it’s worth, I’ve tried both adding an end time and changing the repeat pattern to daily until 13/8/16 but neither helped.

I end up with three instances of the event on the Posterboard view, as per this screenshot.

(You can see the next event also has the same issue with each daily event taking up one space on the posterboard)

    Again, thanks for your help.

…oh, just in case it matters, it’s WordPress 4.5.3
    and AI1EC 2.5.8
    with Extended Views 1.2.9

    Thanks.

    Hi roadtrip9,

You are right, my workaround does not work anymore, I have to check this with the development team. I’ll get back to you as soon as I have more information. Your patience is appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ben
