Auto-Pause Video (after amount of time)

I am looking to add some training pages to my site, which will include video footage. The video footage will display text that the users need to be able to read at their own pace. As such I am looking for a way to embed a video that when played, will automatically pause (no need for the end user to click on a pause button) at certain pre-determined points in the video that have text displayed. The user will then click on a ‘Continue’ button once they have read the text. I would much appreciate any help anyone can provide, but please keep in mind that I am new to embedding video but I am a fast learner.
