For the past month or more, the register form doesn’t appear or show. I have test the theme and any possible plugin issues. Same problem when no plugins are active and same page when I use the default wordpress theme.
The only way I can view and see the register form is when I am logged in, when I log out to view the form, nothing.

When I do delete the shortcode to the form, the page appears like it should but of course since the shortcode is deleted, no form.

I can’t seem to figure out the problem.

  • Hi,

Would you please post a link to the page in question? Also, under Ultimate Member -> Access, be sure that you’ve selected, “Redirect to UM register page,” and that it is set up correctly.

    here’s the link: https://jovisixx.com/join

since using this plugin, never had a problem until a month or so ago … had issue with the profile page showing but had to do some altering to get it to show.

Here are a few things to check:

    1. Under Ultimate Member -> Setup, is the join page the one selected for Register page?

    2. Is your join page configured correctly under Ultimate Member -> Forms? In other words, the form type is Register (not Login or Profile)?

    3. Have you tried using the default WP theme? If so, does the page render properly?

    Good luck,
    Rob

Also, if you are able to view the form when logged in but not when logged out, double check your restrictions for that page. Be sure that you’re not restricting it to logged in members only, for example, or only logged in members of a certain user role.

    1. Yes, register page is setup correctly

    2. Yes, form is setup as registered

    3. Yes I have tried, doesn’t show in the default WP theme or any theme I have

I have already check the custom access setting is off, another words visible to all.

Just messing around and I put the shortcode into a post and I can see the form on a post not a page. When I tried to put the shortcode on any page or portfolio, its doesn’t show. Just on a post page.

Correction shortcode for the register page doesn’t work on any pages, post or portfolio page.

Did the register form ever display properly? If so, what might have changed between that point and now in terms of changes to your site? Do you have a backup of the site from the point when the register form rendered properly?

Just trying to help you sort this out. ??

Yeah, I know. It worked properly before the last ultimate member plugin update which was two months ago.

It seems to only work when there’s a logged in user. When no logged in user, the shortcode doesn’t display or work. I’m stump, as to what is cause it to work that way. I’m thinking about deleting the plugin and re-install. See how that goes, if it still has problems, then I’ll have to find something else that works.

UM was last updated two weeks ago and the next update (1.3.67) is supposed to drop tomorrow according to other posts in this forum.

If the register page shows when there’s a logged in user, are you absolutely certain that you haven’t limited the page to logged in users only? Just checking since that would be an easy fix. ??

Your join page has changed since yesterday, so perhaps you are making some progress.

You might consider deleting the register page altogether and rebuilding it from scratch. The only other thing that comes to mind quickly is that remnants of an old (possibly incompatible) plugin are restricting you somehow. You said that you deactivated every plugin except UM and reverted to the default theme (simultaneously) but that the register page still did not display properly?

I’ve delete UM plugin, deleted all associated files, re-installed and for some reason all the settings where still there and the register form still doesn’t show. I’ve deleted pages, made new ones, when it still doesn’t work, deleted those page and I’m stuck.

Thanks for refraining from sounding mean. ?? When UM is installed, there is an uninstall option on the WP plugin page. Did you use it or did you simply deactivate and then delete it? Using the uninstall option will completely wipe it out. You may want to try that and then recreate the register page. The fact that some files were present when you reinstalled UM suggests that it was probably not uninstalled.

yes i did uninstalled, when i went to re install it failed the first 4 times, then I had to manually delete from FTP, re-install, uninstall again and now hopefully – its erases now.

Gosh, this sounds like a nightmare. I am sure that it has been very frustrating and you have spent a ton of time on this problem.

What if you start over from scratch, perhaps from a subdomain or folder other than public_html? Install WordPress freshly, then UM. Create your registration page and make sure it works. Then slowly export and import your posts and other site content while checking to make sure that the registration page remains sound. Only add your theme and additional plugins one at a time while checking the configuration each time. Finally, if it all works, delete your current site and port the new site into its place.

My gosh, all that work to just fix some weird issue. But what I didn’t want to do was re-do everything, so after 7 hours of trying to delete and re-install this plugin. Thankfully, that did the trick and now the registration form is showing when not logged in. Thanks for your assistance and advise.
