These two hooks open and close the link: https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce/blob/master/includes/wc-template-hooks.php#L92-L93. Here are the functions for reference: https://github.com/woothemes/woocommerce/blob/master/includes/wc-template-functions.php#L557-L568

You should be able to just remove those hooks with a remove_action call to get rid of the links.

Just to make sure I understand.

In the wc-template-hooks.php file, I add “remove_action” instead of add on these two lines that you highlighted.

In the wc-template-functions.php file, I remove completely the function?

I did that and I still have the link to the single-product when I hover the image.

Any idea why?

You wouldn’t want to modify the template file – you would want to add a new remove_action hook – you can read more about those here.

So, if you add code to your functions.php it would be something like the code below (which is untested, so use at your discretion):

remove_action( 'woocommerce_before_shop_loop_item', 'woocommerce_template_loop_product_link_open', 30 );
remove_action( 'woocommerce_after_shop_loop_item', 'woocommerce_template_loop_product_link_close', 30 );
