• I just tried installing and uninstalling WP Super Cache. I followed the instructions to uninstalling it and now all I get is the following:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp() in /home/content/n/e/t/netgourd/html/wp-blog-header.php on line 18

Has anyone experienced this or know of any way to fix it? Thanks for your time and help, it is greatly appreciated!

  • Yes the wp-config file is corrupt. I fixed this by changing the public directory to 777 (from 750) then allowed WordPress to create it’s own WP-Config file and then changed the directory back to 750.
I’ve found this happens every time I move a wordpress site from one place to another.

found out that wp-config.php file had changed its charset encoding somewhere in the uploading process.
just converted it back to utf-8 and problem was solved.

Another solution – create a new WordPress installation in a separate folder. FTP the wp-config.php file from this installation to your local machine. Open the file with Crimson Editor (NOT notepad – no matter what they say about it being a strict text editor) Carefully edit only the elements that need changing. Probably just your database name and database username and database password. DO NOT add any extra characters to the file anywhere. Click “save”. FTP back to your original WordPress installation. Worked for me after hours of thinking Notepad “should” work.

kathycac… I love you. You saved my day.

    Wow, worked, thanks kathycac.
