Can only pay using Credit Card and not using normal PayPal?

    Hey,

    I installed this plugin today and I wanted to try if it’s working.
    I did set the price to $0.10 and paid wanted to pay using my sisters PayPal account.

    My sister has money on her PayPal balance, and her account is verified.
    However, after logging in I was only able to pay using Creditcard.

    It gave me the following message (roughly translated from dutch):
    `Connect a creditcard to your PayPal account if you want to pay this product.

    There was no option to use my PayPal balance. Why is this?

    I currently have a verified non-merchant account. Weird right?

    Because I read on the internet that you need a merchant account to let customers pay with credit card.

    It’s like I live in an opposite world. Haha.

    What do you mean?

    I don’t need to have a merchant account to use the simple PayPal transaction, right?

    I still don’t understand why I can only pay with a credit card instead of a simple login and paying using the PayPal balance.

    Is it really required to open a merchant account? I’d rather not to be honest.

    Hi, please read the following.

    Premier accounts are for members who will have a high transaction volume, need to accept credit card payments, or would like access to our special features not offered with Personal accounts. Premier accounts include all the benefits of Personal accounts, as well as our special features.

    Business accounts allow you to do business under a company or group name, accept all payment types for low fees, and accept payment from customers without PayPal accounts. Business accounts include all of the benefits of Premier accounts, as well as our special features.

    The upgrade is free and will give you more options while using this plugin.

    Oh, and another question:
    The 3,4% + €0.35 as fee on the purchase, will that be automatically be deducted from what I receive on my PayPal balance?

    Can you provide more information. For example what is 3,4%? Then you say + €0.35, where is this figure coming from?

    That is the PayPal merchant fee model in The Netherlands.

    I looked it up for the United States and it says:

    Online payments & invoicing
    2.9% + $0.30
    per transaction within the US

    Thank you for reporting back. Any fees that are charged by PayPal will be automatically deducted from your PayPal account.
