    Hey there dev,

I wanted to try out this plugin, upon requested by many of our members.
I’m exited to display our FB group feed, but I ran into an issue, as seen in the screenshot below:
    https://grab.by/RFbu

Could you help me out here ?
I’ve used the FB ID website as displayed in your plugin overview.

    Our FB group:

I’m lost what to do ..
First I tried to display it on a page, but upon viewing the page I got a 404 error. Then I tried to display it in a widget, see screenshot.

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers,
    Youri

  • It appears the Facebook group you are trying to receive data from is a restricted group (Closed Group) which is why Facebook has generated the code 100 error message you are seeing.

The ID that you are using 446219818817718 in place of the Group name “RamBattle” is correct but unless the group restrictions are changed the data within is still going to remain protected by Facebook and not allowed to pass through their API.

A “possible” workaround might involve obtaining a “User Access token” as described here but because of the restriction in place on the group
    that is not a guarantee.

    Hey there,

Thanks for the reply. That worked.

I’ve got another question. Is there a way to decrease the amount of words used for the posts on our website ? As of now, when I post a large story on our FB page, that whole story (*) is published on our website. I’d like to see a short version on the website, when people click on that story, they’re taken to FB to read the whole post. Is that possible ?

    Thanks in advance.

    Cheers.

You can limit the amount of text displayed in both the actual post itself and also for a “link, photo, video description”.

You will find these settings by going to your WordPress Dashboard – Facebook Feed – Customize – Typography (tabbed page) – scroll down to the sections listed “Post Text” – “maximum post text length” and also the Link, Photo and Video Description – “maximum description length” settings. Adjust the number to the number of characters you wish to have displayed in the feed.
