Missing Content, Authors, Theme Help

I managed to import the previously exported WordPress.com file to the database. However, only three of the original posts are showing. None of the original pages. Though all the old categories are there– even if they are with 0 entries. Where did all my posts poof off to? Can I get them to show?

This blog has three authors. Under Users I see them listed, but I can not figure out how each one is supposed to post to the blog. When logged in it goes under admin directly, and I see no way to switch to another user.

I see my usual theme and have activated it. The only change I need made is to ad my banner in the place of the one there and have the title words hidden. With WordPress.com this was easy, a simple upload and click of a button. I have no idea how to make this happen using the current format. Please advise.

And lastly… seeing as I am about to pull my hair out, is there a Fairy Blog Mother who can do all this for me? *sigh* I thought not…
