    Hi!

I’ve been looking around for a photo album plugin to display my images stored elsewhere, and this looks great! One question – can it display images from a Flickr Group’s pool? I want to display images uploaded by multiple people in my company, and it seems like they’ll each need their own Flickr account.

    Thanks in advance!

I’d also be open to using another photo service, if you recommend something else. Our main requirement is that we want a number of people to be able to upload photos, and one admin will approve them before they go live.

    Any recommendations?

    Thanks!

“Group Pool” is currently not supported. I believe the concept was introduced long after I built the Flickr functionality, and I never got around to adding it to the plugin. While the development will not take long, I currently don’t have the bandwidth to accommodate the request, so I don’t know when it will get done. I believe there are other plugins that support this, though.

OK – I can’t believe I missed this, but the requested functionality already exists in the plugin!

    Here is what you do:

    1. Use Photonic → Helpers to find the Group ID for your group
    2. In the Photonic shortcode inserter, pick the option to display “Photos”, then populate the Group ID in the field that is there below.

In essence your shortcode should look somewhat like this:
    [gallery type='flickr' view='photos' group_id='16978849@N00']

I am very sorry for forgetting about having put it in – when I went in to change the plugin to accommodate this functionality, I realized that it had been there all along.
