Can you have the blog page as part of the site?

You can have a blog running on the same website. Regarding the content on your home page, is it a “post” or a “page”? That makes a huge difference. I can help you once I know the answer.

I would like to have the same idea as the existing blog. To be able to post and leave comments.

1. Login to your website
2. In the Admin area, Find “Pages” to the left
3. Hover mouse over “Pages” and select “Add New”
4. Name your blog page and click “Publish”
5. Look to left for “Settings”. Hover mouse over “Settings” and click “Reading”.
6. On “Front page displays” you have two choices, “Your latest posts” and “A static page”. Select “A static page”.
7. Don’t touch “Front page” because nothing is wrong with your front page. You need a blog; that’s the “Posts page” option. On the “Posts page” drop-down menu, select the blog page you created in step 4.
8. Click “Save Changes”
9. Go to menus and add blog page to your navigation

That should do it.

I got the idea, but I don’t know yet how to seat it up.

Great job, you’ve got the blog setup, now you just need to customize it. Be aware, your previous posts from the other site will probably have to be manually copied over. Unless you can find a plugin to do it for you.

You need to go into the page edit screen to configure your blog page. Here is some info regarding this area:

The page edit screen is where you place your page content. Same as any other wordpress page.

It’s the area where you see the red boxes and arrows in the tutorial I posted above.

Does that make sense?

At the blog page there is no option to place your page content, or to edit the page

Can you take a screenshot of this? There is certainly a place to edit my blog page on my test site.

Are you clicking the “edit page” button in the admin top bar when you’re logged in and viewing the page?

Go to Settings> Reading and set “Posts page” to be blank. This is preventing the blog editor from loading.

There is no such option

Just don’t select a page. Leave it on select and you should be set.
