• Hi There,

I am in the planning stages of creating a niche specific directory. I need to give the searcher the option to search and sort the results by zip and/or city(US only) and then have the option to get quotes/estimates from all or a selection of the results by sending only one form.
I am looking at Gravity Forms but not sure if it can be setup do this? I’d prefer plugin(s) solution and free option but premium is ok if it does what I need.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! ??

    Thank you!
    Tony

  • Gravity Forms is an excellent, top-notch form plugin, but it does not do the ‘search and filtering’ that you’re looking for – it simply lets you build a form (and some very sophisticated, multi-page forms if you need them), and then processes that form by logging entries to it’s DB tables and sending whatever notification emails you need and create.

If you want to allow site visitors to search through already posted content and filter based on things like taxonomies or custom metadata, try Search & Filter (the free version works well, the Pro version offers more features) or any of the many, many search plugins available.

As for tying the two together (so that once a site visitor has the results they want, they can submit one form), that will take a bit of custom scripting – you’ll likely need to hire a programmer to help with that, as it would mean passing data (the ‘checked’ results) into a dynamically populated field on your ‘quote’ form……it’s not hard to do, but does require some coding to do it.

Thank you TrishaM! Very helpful answer. ??

Did you find a solution for “search and sort the results… … and then have the option to get quotes/estimates from all or a selection of the results”?
