  • Hello,

It seems like your message is incomplete. Can you please share more details?

OK I’ll try to be clear:

    1. I set Visibility of a download to “password protected”, then I navigate to the site, until entering the requested password and the download fails and sends to a page with: “Oops! That page cannot be found.”

    2. When visibility is set to public things work as advertised.

    Thanks

    Hello joramr,

Thank you for sharing all the details. I did a test locally on my site and was not able to replicate the issue. If I set the download as “password protected” I am asked to enter a password and once I am done, the download starts.

Can you please create a test download with a password and share the link with us so we can test?

    Hello joramr,

I apologize for my previous reply. Please allow me some time to look into it and get back to you.

    Hello joramr,

Thank you for your patience. I tested again and was not able to replicate the issue. Please share the link and I’ll test further.

    Hi,

Thanks, here is the link to our download page:

    https://www.mdpm.com/downloadcatalogs/

the password protected document is the one called “M – collection English (15M)” in the lower left. Password is: harish

    ??

    Hello,

Thank you for the link. I noticed after adding the password, we are redirected to “https://www.mdpm.com/wp-pass.php”. While it’s hard to know what could cause this, I would suggest doing these 2 tests:

    1. Please go to “Downloads > Settings > Access (tab)” in your WordPress admin and make sure a “No Access Page” is selected.
    2. Create a normal WordPress page and set a password to it and test if it works. If it results in the same error, then this could be due to some plugin conflict.

Please let me know the results and then we can test further.

    1. Checked: Access Page defined as Home

    2. Done: https://www.mdpm.com/testpage/ password: minimal, same error.

    Hello @ joramr,

This the issue happens with standard pages too, our plugin would not be the cause of it. I would recommend disabling all plugins and then testing the new page. If it works, then try activating one plugin at a time and test. This way you would be able to find which plugin causes the redirect issue.

Secondly, the “No Access” page should be the page that contains the shortcode mentioned below the “No Access” page settings.

    Hi Harish,

I created a No Access page with the shortcode inside.

I disabled all the plugins that are not necessary for my site to work properly but no culprit found….

    Hello @ joramr,

I assume you have disabled every single plugin including ours before testing the https://www.mdpm.com/testpage/ page again? Please confirm.

    (@joramr)

Well, if I disable them all my site would turn totally unusable…. so no, I did only turn off most of them, some also disrupting the site’s presentation or functionality.

    Hello @ joramr,

As this is not an issue with our plugin, I regret to say I might not be able to offer much help. if you want to resolve the issue, you would have to properly test your site plugins & theme.
