I’m having an issue with Pinterest rich pins. Under the social settings in All in One SEO for a blog post, the first couple sentences of the article show up in the description field. But when I pin it to Pinterest, the article title is what shows in the description field. Yes, I can change it manually, but that doesn’t help for when other people pin it.

In the social meta module, there’s settings specifically for FB and Twitter, but not Pinterest. Any suggestions?

    Thanks!

Can you provide the URL for the post where this is happening please.

    Here’s a sample post https://vacationswithmom.com/oh-no-a-flat-tire-mom-to-the-rescue/

On Pinterest, the rich pin as displayed in the feed (or on my board) shows the article title both in bold as the rich pin title, and it shows below the title as the description. The funny thing is when I click on the pin so this comes up https://www.pinterest.com/pin/129971139225651474/ It shows properly, the title with a description (the first few lines of the post) below. But when I click on edit this pin, what shows up in the “description” field is the title.

This is the description that is set in All in One SEO Pack for that post:

POP!—a sound you never want to hear on a road trip. Mom and I looked at each other … uh-oh…. We were in England driving from London to Glastonbury.

This is the description that Pinterest is using:

POP!—a sound you never want to hear on a road trip. Mom and I looked at each other … uh-oh…. We were in England driving from London to Glastonbury.

They look identical to me so Pinterest is picking up the description set in All in One SEO Pack.

Thanks for taking a look. Yes, I know. When you click on the link above it shows that. But when I’m signed into Pinterest and click edit this pin, the screen that shows up has the title in the description field, not the description. You can’t see that part because you’re not signed in as me. But I can’t post screen shots in this forum. Also, when it shows up in the Pinterest feed, the same thing happens. Thank you!

Unfortunately that’s a Pinterest issue. You’d need to contact their support for help with that. Their own debug tool shows the correct information.

    Hi Steve,

I’m having the same problem on Facebook with the description field not showing up properly. On FB it simply leaves that field blank, whereas Pinterest duplicated the title info there. Could it be related to my theme? Have you heard of any issues with Divi and All in One SEO?

    Thanks.

Facebook has a debug tool which you can use to troubleshoot this issue (there is a button in All in One SEO Pack on the Social Settings tab for Debug Post that opens this tool).

When you use the Facebook debug tool make sure you click the Fetch new scrape information button and this will ask Facebook to fetch the latest Open Graph meta for that post. Sometimes you have to click that button a few times before it works.
