Two authors side by side

I have a website that is being posted to by two authors. What I would like to do is somehow display one in each column, side by side. Is there a way to somehow look at the db, see who posted what, and have Author1’s articles only appear in column 1, and Author2’s articles only appear in column 2?

I was thinking the only way to do it would be to somehow filter things and display based on that, but I am a TOTAL Noob in WordPress programming
