Adding new role to be compatible w/ Easy Digital Downloads/Front End Submissions

Dumb question, I know, especially since the FAQ lays out how to add a new role, but I’m not a programmer, and just a bare education in how to edit code.
Easy Digital Downloads is like WooCommerce, except more oriented towards digital downloads, rather than physical goods – it has an excellent plugin called Front End Submissions, that allows the creation of an online marketplace, like Etsy, or Ebay.
For users, the plugin uses the traditional “subscriber” role of wordpress, but adds another role, “Vendor” for the sellers, and then several lesser roles within that. Though others might, I don’t need the granular control of Shop accountant/worker/manager, etc – but I do need Frontend Vendor as a role.
My problem: How to add on my vendors? I need to be able to display a menu for them to get to their dashboards, see their earnings, upload content, etc, and I have no idea how to edit the code properly for this
