Use 2.3 Widget Management in 2.5

  • LEGACY WIDGETS!

    Many people have been upset with the new 2.5 widget management, especially the lack of drag and drop between sidebars. So I found a way to use the old 2.3 interface inside of 2.5.

    NOTE:
    1. Use this to arrange your widgets only.
    2. No changes to the widgets will be saved.
    3. This does not replace the 2.5 page, just supplements it.
    4. This is a hack, not a plugin currently.

    Just download these files and upload/replace in the appropriate directories! To use, just navigate to: https://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin/widgets2.php

    DEVELOPMENT HELP! I’d like to make a new sub-menu link to this “Legacy Widgets” page, but I don’t know how! Any help would be appreciated! I also don’t know how to make this a plugin.

    But for the time being, enjoy using the old interface with 2.5! Woo!
