Not getting notifications of trackbacks or pingbacks

  • I do not get notification of trackbacks or pingbacks. I have all my settings set up properly but still do not get any notifications. I have multiple examples of where people have linked to my site and I get nothing. Even when I link to my own site, I don’t get any notification.

    Are you or your host blocking access to xmlrpc.php?

    I don’t think so. I contacted my hosting company today and they didn’t see any issues. I could try back and ask about that file though.

    Is there anything else that could cause it?

    Have you disabled trackbacks and pingbacks under settings?

    Are you using any security plugins?

    I have the trackback and ping backs enabled in both locations:
    WP Admin -> Settings -> Discussions:
    WP Admin -> Genesis -> Theme Settings

    I don’t have any security plugins that I know of. Just the basic ones (Yoast, social sharing, instagram feed, google analytics, easy recipe…)
