Backing up core files

  • A lot of things went wrong while updating my wordpress site, I received a backup from my server provider as it was some days ago. I deleted the wordpress file and uploaded the one from the backup file from my server provider. After doing that I went to login to wordpress but the website is not as it was. Should I change other files too?

  • I would revert completely back to that old backup. Change all the core files with the possible exception of the wp-config.php.
