• I am trying to add Google Analytics to my web-site without much experience in doing so. So far my attempts haven’t “shown up”. I was told to add the code above the </body> tag on the index.html page. However, in reading some posts concerning the issue it seems people are adding the code to the footer.php file. Can anyone straighten me out on this issue. Again, I have limited experience so I have some trouble with web jargon…Thanks

  • Yes, to add Analytics to your blog, I believe you should add it above the </body> tag in footer.php for whichever template you are using.

Basically, the Google Analytics code snippet should be the very last thing on every page of your website, whether you’re using WordPress or not. With your WordPress blog, the last thing that gets added to each and every page will be footer.php, so here is where you should put your Analytics code.

    Mine works fine like this.

Hi liveeytv, liked your blog. wouldn’t using the google analytics plugin, available from the plugins download on this site be easier. I’ve found it great, and you only need to add your google analytics tracking code in the dmin area and its all done. good luck.
