possible to provide other leagues ?

The plugin doesn’t really support easy ways to make multiple separate pools where people can choose to predict only Jupiler Pro League or only Proximus League. Only thing you can do in such a case is create your pages for the different pools with shortcodes, e.g.: a prediction page for just a subset of matches (e.g. Jupiler Pro), a corresponding ranking page for a custom ranking that only contains those matches.

One thing to keep in mind is the calculation of the rankings: with 300 players, some custom rankings and a lot of matches, this could take a lot of minutes to compute.

As the compute time required increases with the more users and match results, i assume that the current code always recalculates every users score for all matches.

Do you have plans to optimise the computation? For example, by storing the last match that the players scores were calculated. And then only computing the users points since that match, and then adding to their previous saved scores.

It would be a great feature to have, and you’d probably also want to keep the existing mechanism which would be used as a “refresh all data” just in case you needed to change an old match score or something.

I have thought about it multiple times and older versions of the plugin had a system where – at least for the custom rankings – the calculation only took changed matches/questions into account (the so-called ‘smart’ calculation). But I had to rewrite that code because it was terrible ?? and it was nearly impossible to extend. So I made a decision to start all over again.

It is still on my wishlist though to add some ‘smart’ back in the calculation.
